The track goes up to Muktinath and Ranipuwa now. But last spring we encountered only one motorbike on the section down to Kagbeni and one tractor in Kagbeni itself. Didn't see a jeep until Jomsom. Although the road is complete it is hardly heavy traffic. The only section where it was so bad was Jomsom to above Kalopani where we saw half a dozen jeeps which did indeed kick up a load of dust as they went past. But it was only 6 in a few days and that section is dusty and windy anyway. I didn't find it that bad overall. The AC is still fascinating.

The skyline of Jharkot has changed though as they have built large new building at one end.
