Frankly, in some areas of Nepal where the people lock up their sisters and only marry virgines the young men can at times be a minor hassle and a potential risk if one does not watch out.

In Khumbu the women are not locked up nor are the people into virgin marriage, so it is quite safe to be a sole female. It is extremely unlikely that they will stare at you much less hassle you in any way. I know many women who have trekked on their own in Tibetanspeaking areas and have never heard of any hassles.
