Day 4 Mount Dale to Canning |
This section of the Bibbulmun Track is level with the exception of 3 or 4 kilometres around Abyssinia Rock. The Bibbulmun Track is swampy in places here, with paperbark trees and banksia trees coming into the picture. Canning Campsite is situated beside a small creek. |

![]() Last to leave the hut at 8:30am. Still very cold even though have thermals on. Mainly flat country with many well watered creeks. Brookton Campsite is only 8 kilometres away and arrive at 10:30am. Camp accommodates the disabled with toilet the best on the Bibbulmun Track. Saw my face there in the mirror, first time in 4 days. From Brookton Campsite, the Brookton highway is only 2.5 kilometres. Had a magic skinny dip 1 kilometre before the highway crossing. "Take my breath away refreshing" 11 kilometres to Canning Hut. What a lovely walk it was. Abysinia Rock was worth climb and photos and loved walking through swamp with paperbark and banksias trees. Saint Morgan lit a fire tonight and cooked up a great nosh up of pasta, potatoes and peas. He's a chef by trade, so I'm really being spoilt. Night a bit warmer, hoping for a good night's sleep. Legs and shoulders feeling better, still backfiring a lot though. In the groove now and loving it. Morgs might move on tomorrow. ![]() ![]() |
