Day 30 Donnelly River to Tom Road |
Leave Donnelly River south through jarrah forest, returning to karri forest again around Manjimup Brook, (5.5 kilometres). Delightful walk which has the Donnelly River as a close companion after you hit the twin bridges. The river is with you for the next 50 kilometres, lovely karri forest, rapids and valleys to enjoy. No major hill climbs. |

![]() Slept in until 9am so didn't hit road until 10:15am. Nice knowing I have only 16 kilometres today. Pleasant walk through Karri Forest. Saw two tiger snakes today bringing the total I have seen to four. One karri tree was 32 of my feet in circumference. Arrived 1 hour behind Hermon and Anneka (2:15pm). The Tom Road Shelter is near a lovely pool of water, which is Donnelly River. Bit cool for a swim so I caught some worms and threw my hand line in instead. Caught nothing (again), so my dream of catching river fish still unfulfilled! Shared the harmonica around fire. Anneka knows a couple of tunes. In bed by 9:30pm, there's a mouse in the house so we have all hung our bags up with our food in it. Wrigglies in the tank also, so I may need to get Mum's stocking out to filter the water! ![]() ![]() |
