This section of the Bibbulmun Track follows the River Murray for most of the day, and the lush fertile vegetation makes you feel like you're in a jungle. Some areas are very slippery, so care is needed. Mainly level terrain apart from the first and last 3.5 kilometres.

As soon as I arrived (2:15pm) the rain poured down. Up until then it was mainly fine with occasional drizzle. Left at 9:15am and hiked through overgrown sections, although most have been recently cleared to some extent.

This hut has some luxuries or home, compliments of "Jim the mad Axeman". It has a mirror and washing lines hung up. It also has a thermometer 10 C (5:30pm) and a bookshelf with copies of the Reader's Digest. The hut doesn't have a heater so I've lit a fire under the shelter of the hut. Down to food rations and saving metho by cooking rice and peas in fire. Clothes are dry again except for socks and boots. Fire should help me prepare for the big day tomorrow, 20 kilometres of hills (Doh!)
